This story was created in response to the tragic incident that occurred at Bondi Junction in December 2025, which has understandably caused distress, confusion, and concern across the community. Several members of our community may find it difficult to process upsetting news or sudden changes in perceived safety.

The purpose of this story is to support calm, reassuring conversations, promote a sense of safety, and help individuals make sense of what happened in a gentle, age-appropriate, and non-graphic way. The language and visuals have been carefully chosen to reduce fear while acknowledging big feelings that may arise.

Additional blue pages have been included throughout this resource to support carers, families, and support workers. These pages provide guidance on how to use the social story, and how to approach difficult conversations in a supportive, trauma-informed way. This resource is intended to be used flexibly and may be adapted to suit individual needs.
